- "I don't know our server's name, but she was awesome! We were the only people in the place, I think because there had been a huge storm and no one was coming out for dinner. Our server was really great and efficient and just conversational enough for us to get a feel of the place.The restaurant had a great menu with lots of options for vegetarians. My partner got a very huge steak which he said was wonderful (and wonderfully done) and I got a pesto pasta. My only complaint was that the pasta had a lot, of oil, but I believe that was part of the pesto sauce. It tasted just fine. The salads were good, and we did not have enough room for dessert. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone passing through on their way to Watkins Glen and beyond."
- "My husband and I were in the Finger Lakes to attend a wedding at a local winery in Dundee, NY. We found reviews of this neat restaurant on the internet and decided to give it a try for dinner.The location is a little white house. There are actually two little white houses next to each other so make sure you get the one with the restaurant. Everyone was very friendly. The decor is you guessed it... ducks! Everything is nice and clean. The food was outstanding! I had the crab cakes and they were big and flavorful. The portions are very big. They have a little salad bar that makes a nice accompaniment with the meal. Pricing was reasonable. If you want a different and fun experience, don't hesitate to give this restaurant a try."
- "We eat at the Decoy quit often. Their food is to die for and the portions are more than normal. Their bar area may be small but the atmosphere is well worth the lingering. The entire establishment is so welcoming. It certainly shows that the management/ownership respect and care for their workers. Everyone is so polite and welcoming, who wouldn't want to come visit.I highly suggest anyone in the area of Rock Stream and/or Watkins Glen, NY visit the Decoy. You'll love it!!!"
- "We stayed at Golden Knight Inn in Rock Stream. Our innkeeper suggested the Decoy for a good place to eat and it was only 3/10 of a mile up the road from the motel. After being out at wineries all day, we just wanted a simple, good restaurant without a long wait on a Saturday night. We walked right in and were seated and waited on immediately. The four of us all had wonderful meals and the service was good as well. The waitress presented a nice dessert tray, but none of us had room for dessert, although we were tempted. They have a full bar as well. This is not a fancy place, but felt homey and it seemed as though there were many locals in the diner, rather than a tourist trap. Prices were reasonable."
- "We chose to eat at "The Decoy" on our first evening staying in the Seneca Lake region due to the proximity of the restaurant to our hotel. The restaurant is located just South of the Glenora Winery on Rte. 14, and could easily be missed because it looks like a small white house. We learned about the Decoy from a local winery where the staff told us they heard it was quite good. The Decoy has a full bar service. Menu items range from simple (hamburgers) to chicken, pasta and seafood. I had broiled scallops and they were very good. The Decoy has a small salad bar, but everything was fresh and the salad dressing tasted homemade. The restaurant was very busy as it was a Friday night, yet service was friendly and efficient. Dinner for 2 with 2 glasses of wine was approx. $60 before tax/tip. This is an unpretentious place with a limited, "homey" menu (no fancy french cuisine here) frequented by locals. We were pleased with our meals and would return"
- "Watkins Glen restaurants were crowded on the Saturday in July the 4 of us wanted to visit. We went here instead. No tourists, great food, reasonable prices. It's along Rt. 14 in a house so it's easy to miss but worth visiting unless you like crowds and waiting in lines."
- "We went to the Decoy on a recommendation from our innkeeper. It was a busy Saturday night on a holiday weekend, but the food was above average, and the wait staff did their very best to keep things running smoothly. The prime rib, the special of the night, was huge and delicious. The decor is not fancy, but it is very clean and casual. Many locals frequent this restaurant- and with good reason. It's a good place to eat."
- "Hi last night we came over for dinner to celebrate teds 61st birthday. It was wonderful sitting on the deck and the waitress was terrific. The food was so wonderful I have told many of my neighbors to come over there and eat. Thank you for being open the great waitresses and fabulous food. Will be over again."
